Bertie Otter

Bertie is Belinda's twin.

Bertie is also a working otter, appearing at talks and shows with Daphne and Martin. He is rather prone to heading off alone, and doesn't like going back into his carrycrate at the end of shows, even though he is very tired, so he doesn't go out for walks like his sisters do. Bertie is a very enterprising little otter, and is the one who works out how the pen catches and bolts work. He is a great climber, and can swing hand-over-hand across the roof of his pen. He is often the ringleader in mischief, and leads his more easy-going sister on in games. Their latest antic is to do a double act to enable one of them to get out of their pen into the middle area - Bertie climbs up the gate and works the catch, and Belinda heaves the gate open and squeezes through. He hasn't learnt how to pick the lock on the outer door though - yet!
